CPRA update

MESSAGE FROM Community Gardai

Our Community Garda Michael McCoy has advised that there has been another big drop in Burglaries over the past 3 months in our vicinity. One robbery occurred in OAKTREE estate, and one in MAPLE within that time. In one instance, he advises keys were fished out through the letter box and in another access was gained through a back door. Garda McCoy advises the fishing through the letterbox is still being used actively – advice is DO NOT LEAVE YOUR KEYS within reach of your letterbox. He also advised several arrests have taken place in the Castleknock area and this appears to have helped to lower the crime rates.
With hot sunshine these days – it’s a good time to consider investing in a Water Butt. They come in all sizes – from 100 Litres, 120Litres to 210 Litres. While our Association does not subscribe to advertising – a VERY WELL KNOWN hardware provider in Blanchardstown Shopping Centre has Water Butts on sale RIGHT NOW (9th July) – with all reduced to very attractive prices. Check out their website for a video showing how to install a Water Butt to your drain pipe with little hard effort.  Rain water is good for plants, fine for pets to drink and some say is a beauty treatment for washing your hair in. Either way, it could save Residents €€€€ in water charges every summer when your garden wants a drink…

A Resident of Cherry Avenue kindly notified CPRA of the tree located at end of Cherry Avenue which is completely covered by tree branches from the Parklands. We confirm Fingal County Council’s Parks Department has been contacted today (9th July) and this matter is now being looked into. This is Light No 19 located off the footpath at the end of the Avenue’s Cul de Sac.

Next Meeting – Monday 2nd September 2013- Laurel Lodge Community Centre. Our Committee needs new members and its just one meeting a month for an hour. Come along, make some suggestions – get involved in the area you live in. All invited!
